Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B for a distinctive mix. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician singing and playing at the church in town. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B music scene. The very first track to showcase her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it has been re-mixed and is now component of her set. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) offered her the position of choir conductor for Dreamgirls in Atlanta in the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained attention during the four daily performances in The 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
